The Hodgepodge Heroes: ChIRP

Chirp here is the first of a group of 6 (really, 8) called the Hodgepodge Heroes commissioned for Christmas 2021. I did individual portraits and then compiled them into a group lineup. It was great to finally see them altogether, but a challenge keeping lighting consistent, marrying the colors, etc. Love doing groups, though, because the characters tell you more about themselves when placed in context with the rest of their party.

Kenkus are not easy to get right (you can’t really just stick a bird head on a human body’s shoulders), but I really like this little guy and his pirate-y pants.

Chirp is a talented and sneaky Kenku rogue. He hails from the Menagerie Coast, where he spent many years as a pirate. After running into some trouble with the Revelry, a society of pirates, he went on the run. His travels landed him in Uthodurn where he decided to sign up for an expedition with Uthodurn's Academy of Research and Exploration. During this trip he met the Hodgepodge Heroes. He adventures with the Hodgepodge Heroes, Uthodurn's Primary Expedition Team, to this day.
